The Playful Pet-Sitter: A Brief Biography

Hello lovely animal lovers! My name is Michelle Sheehan. I’m your playful and professional pet-sitter offering reliable pet-sitting services throughout Central Oregon. I have over 25 years of dedicated professional pet care experience. My continuous goal in pet-sitting is to deliver playful and detail oriented pet care while my clients are away. I am also comfortable with administering pet medications, including insulin injections.

A little bit about me: I graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Portland State University. A few months after I graduated, I started my first pet-sitting service, The Pet Stop, in Beaverton Oregon. I then married my husband in 1999 and moved my professional pet-sitting business to Salem, Oregon.

I ran my successful service in West Salem for almost a decade reaching a total of over 450 clients served over 9+ years. After our family decided to move to Central Oregon in 2007, I started the third generation of The Pet Stop in Redmond, OR. I ran The Pet Stop here for ten solid years before considering it was time for a break. In 2017, I began a three year hiatus from the professional pet care world to focus on raising our kids. Now that they are almost grown, the loving tug to serve animals has sprung to life again!

After my return from sabbatical, I re-designed my business name and materials but my care philosophy remains unchanged. My core values of professional pet care include reliability, knowledge and responsibility. My goal for every pet-sitting client is their peace of mind. I want my clients to be certain that I’ll be there for their pets and that they’re using an experienced, loving and responsible pet sitter. It’s important to me that they feel good about my care. When people leave home for leisure, part of the benefit is not worrying about your animal family and knowing they’re in truly good hands.
